1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to chadbennett.com, operated by Chad W. Bennett (“I”, “me”, “my”). It describes the information this website collects, the purposes for which it is used, and the choices available to you.

This policy does not apply to HEROIC Cybersecurity, which operates under its own privacy policy, or to any third party website linked from this site.

2. Information collected

2.1 Information you provide

The contact form on this site requests your name and email address. It also provides optional fields for your phone number, organization, and event details, including event name, date, location, website, audience size, format, and intended outcome.

When a form is submitted, the following technical information is recorded alongside it: the IP address from which it was sent, the browser user agent string, and the page it was submitted from. This information is retained for spam prevention and to distinguish individual submissions.

Submissions are stored in this website’s database and delivered to me by email. They are used to respond to your enquiry and to arrange any engagement that results. They are not sold, rented, or added to a marketing list.

2.2 Information collected automatically

This site records aggregate usage statistics. For each page view, the following is logged: the page requested, the referring site, approximate time on page, and device and browser type. Visitors are counted using an identifier that is hashed before storage and cannot be resolved to an individual.

These statistics are collected by this website directly. No third party analytics service, advertising pixel, or cross site tracking technology is used. Where a browser transmits a Do Not Track header, no usage data is recorded.

2.3 Information not collected

• Payment or financial information. Nothing is sold through this site.
• Comments. The site does not accept them.
• Account registrations. No public accounts are offered.
• Activity on any website other than this one.

3. Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The usage statistics described in section 2.2 rely on a session identifier held in browser session storage, which is discarded when the browser tab is closed and is not transmitted to any third party.

WordPress, the software running this site, sets authentication cookies for administrative users signing in to manage it. These are not issued to site visitors.

4. Disclosure to third parties

Information collected through this site is disclosed only to the service providers necessary to operate it:

• Hosting provider. Stores this website and its database, including form submissions.
• Email provider. Transmits form notifications and correspondence.
• Google Fonts. Serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests these files from Google, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
• Security services. Log IP addresses associated with failed login attempts and blocked requests for the purpose of protecting the site.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or legal process. It is not sold or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners.

5. Retention

Form submissions and related correspondence are retained for the duration of the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference. They are deleted earlier on request.

Usage statistics are aggregated into daily totals. The individual records underlying them are short lived and, because the visitor identifier is hashed, are not attributable to an individual.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request a copy of the information held about you, request that it be corrected, or request that it be deleted. You may also request that no further contact be made with you.

Requests should be submitted through the contact form and are handled by me directly.

7. Security

This site is served over HTTPS, maintained with current software versions, and protected by login restrictions and firewall rules. No website can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a breach affecting information held about you, affected individuals will be notified.

8. Children

This site is intended for adults making business enquiries. It is not directed at children and information is not knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact me and it will be deleted.

9. Third party links

This site links to external websites, including HEROIC.com and publications that have covered my work. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies. I am not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be amended to reflect changes to the site or to applicable law. The version in force is the one published on this page, dated above. No separate notice of amendment is issued.
